Church-ology (the study of the church)

Churchology (formally known as Ecclesiology), is the study of the church. The core question that is trying to be answered is "What does the Bible say about Church?". This question can be broken down in many ways, here is a short list of the basic questions I hope to find answers to.

What does the church do?
  • Teach (Exegetically through scripture, topical, combination, other?)
  • Evangelize (find and tell lost people about Jesus)
  • Good works (help the poor for example)
  • Other things?
Should the church be organized?
If yes, then How should the church be organized?
  • Committee of elders
  • One primary leader
  • Combination
  • lead by the congregation (voting)
Should we have leadership?
If yes, then how should leadership lead?
  • Do what I say or leave
  • By example
  • do whatever you want, just let me talk.
What is the purpose/job description of leaders?
  • able to teach
  • self controlled
  • young/old christian
  • male/female

Introduction

Theology (The study of God) is one of my favorite subjects. It's always interesting, and it's always challenging.

My goal is to ask the hard questions and find answers. I will try to make the questions and answers as simple as possible, and as pointed as possible. They will not be fluffy, they will not always be nice, but they will be understandable, and they will be honest.
